Meet the women hunting giant pythons ‘eating everything’ in the Everglades

It was only the beginning of the year, but already there was serious, and serious, and serious, to be done.

The following accounts come from two female hunters who have traveled the Everglades in search of giant North American pythons. Both have stories to tell about the pythons but also of the wildlife and the dangers they face.

Both have written before, but they have never written together, so you’ll notice the different styles and voices of each woman.

Laura has already taken her pythons from one part of the Everglades to the other, and she has published two books, the only one currently running in the world. She is passionate about the animals of the Everglades and what she does to protect them.

In the Everglades, Laura has hunted for different species, big and small, and with pythons and other animals. She has also hunted for snakes, bobcats, raccoons and cougars. Each hunt was a different experience, but each unique, and this is the reason why her book is a series of stories rather than a definitive tale.

“I have enjoyed every hunt, but this one I have really enjoyed in particular,” she said. “This hunt was the most unique, most interesting one.”
