Ambyr Childers seeks restraining order against ex-husband Randall Emmett Childers

Court records from September 2018 indicate that on September 8, 2018, the court granted a temporary restraining order against Randall Emmett Childers and ordered him to appear before a Florida court on September 22, 2018 to show cause why he should not be found in contempt of court for failing to submit to a paternity test and pay child support. The temporary restraining order was later converted to a temporary injunction after Emmett failed to appear, and he was ordered to appear in the Family Court of the First Circuit on Friday, September 19, 2018 for a non-evidentiary hearing on whether he should remain in custody subject to a $9,000 bond.

On Friday, September 19, 2018, the court held the non-evidentiary hearing and Emmett was ordered returned to custody until such time as he would comply with the court’s order to surrender his passport and appear at the hearing to show cause. Emmett was held in contempt and had his passport taken away and was remanded to the Okeechobee County Security Detention Center in Port St. Lucie, Florida. According to Emmett, the temporary restraining order is on appeal and he has been unable to contact the Florida court’s clerk. The law firm representing Emmett, Nix & O’Dell LLP, indicated on their website that they are currently representing Emmett in the contempt proceedings and that the temporary restraining order was granted without a hearing to the extent that he may not contact the Florida court’s clerk or his appellate counsel, and he may not contact his ex-wife and family.

According to the law firm, the temporary restraining order was granted without a hearing to the extent that Emmett may not contact his ex-wife and family.

It appears that the trial court granted this temporary restraining order because Emmett filed a motion for contempt against Amanda Childers, seeking to modify the temporary restraining order to include him.

According to the Florida law firm, a hearing was held on Emmett’s temporary restraining
